Janis Adamek participated in the first research school of the DFG priority program Resilient Worlds in Berlin. It aimed for finding ideas for collaboration between the young researchs in this program and was also providing valuable insights on presentation and planning techniques.

Janis is currently working in the project Resilience meets secure networked control in the DFG priority program Resilient Worlds and was therefore invited to the first winter research school in w3.hub, Berlin. This presented a very good opportunity for him to find first ideas for possible collaborations within the priority program, as the main purpose was to bring the young researchers together, to get to know each other and have fruitful discussions about their research.

To this end, the two days were designed to actively experiencing all stages of creating a collaborative research proposal in small groups. On each stage, new input was given by presentations or workshops, such that the young researchers would also get valuable training in fundamental tasks in the research community. This included finding rough collaborative research ideas, which were then refined after a talk of Dr. Egemen Cetinkaya about fundamental aspects of resilience. After a very enlightening workshop from Aslihan Bener, the ideas were pitched and discussed by the whole group. The subgroups then rejoined in refining the rough sketches into a research proposal, using the intel from the talk of Dr. Carine Marxer about planning in research.

We want to thank the organizers for this insightful experience and are looking forward for further collaborations and events within the SPP.
